
Who We Are - Spaerotech™
Spaero Technologies was founded in 2023 by Dr. Chris Dougherty shortly after finishing his Ph.D. in Aeronautics at Caltech. Through those rigorous years, Dr. Dougherty learned by doing, however humbling at times, from an unconventionally diverse set of project experiences that included the experimental simulation of Martian winds to assist Ingenuity well-before reaching Mars to co-founding a heavy-lift drone startup in development of a tri-rotor vehicle capable of carrying more payload than it weighs to the reproduction of the cavitation event of a snapping shrimp inspired claw mechanism (to name but a few).
Spaerotech™ seeks to leverage these diverse project experiences to bring a novel integrated approach grounded in first principles to emerging challenges in the 21st century.
COMING SOON - PRODUCT OFFERINGS
In the course of taking proper measurements to support scientific research endeavors, it has been a welcome inevitability to design and prototype assorted interface devices and sensor suites to convert analog signals to digital (and back again) or control and monitor multitudinous sources or to cascade various voltages across power and signal architectures. Spaerotech™ soon plans to make limited product offerings available for direct purchase at modest prices. Consistent with our open-hardware commitment, core design files can be made available upon request.
spaeroCHIRP™
A 4-pin fan controller built to Intel specification, capable of supporting both 3.3V and 5.0V logic PWM control. Power voltage pass-thru.
spaeroNEST™
A microcontroller breakout board able to support up to (20) spaeroCHIRP™ fan controller boards. Compatible with Arduino Uno header arrangement.
spaeroPROBE™ applet
A general purpose Matlab integrated applet compatible with ueiDAQ and NI A/D converters. Intended for use velocity probes that output standard voltage ranges between [0, 10] volts.
