Now offering made-to-spec Wind Tunnel solutions.

Consistent development of multi-source Fan Array Wind Tunnels this past decade has led to novel approaches in turbulence generation. Whereas conventional wind tunnels seek to minimize turbulence to the maximum extent possible, our approach seeks to 'place a knob on it', shaping flowfields with appropriate & characteristic flow features of environments of interest.

As candidate flyers become increasingly smaller, lighter, and dwell closer to the surface, they must contend with an environment that is dynamic, intermittent, and gusty. Through individual addressing of smaller source units assembled into an array, a whole host of spatio-temporally varying flowfields are made possible, in a space-efficient and economical package. Leveraging understanding of instabilities that drive vortex-formation and mixing, mean velocity profiles can be developed with variable amounts of fluctuations about that mean, a process dubbed 'Turbulence on-demand'. Fan Array Wind Tunnels are the natural evolution of the conventional wind tunnel to meet the needs of the modern flyer.
